Prabowo: Major Economic Powers Aim to HIjack Democracy

President Prabowo Subianto warned that major economic powers are attempting to undermine democracy by bribing influential Indonesian officials. During his address at the 28th anniversary of the National Mandate Party, Prabowo stated that those with vast wealth, particularly those who acquire money illegally, are aiming to hijack the democratic process.

These individuals allegedly bribe judges, prosecutors, military generals, ministers, and even the president themselves. They also manipulate social media algorithms through money, spreading false narratives and libel against the people, according to Prabowo. The president emphasized that this threat is not exclusive to Indonesia, as many countries are grappling with a phenomenon he termed "social media warfare."

Prabowo expressed gratitude for the political figures who have stood by him despite his losing position, acknowledging that such loyalty is rare. He also commended the government's coalition parties for their responsibility in implementing programs, stating that they have proven beneficial to all citizens over the past two years.
