PCB Expands School Cricket Programme to 1,400 Schools in 100 Districts

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a significant expansion of its School Cricket Programme for the current season. The initiative will now cover 1,400 schools in 100 districts, extending the competition to approximately 21,000 students. This follows the program's inaugural edition in 2025-26, which involved 450 schools from 39 districts, marking the largest school cricket participation in the country's history.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has emphasized the program's promotion of school cricket and the early identification of new talent. Both government and private schools are participating, with schools from various regions including Gilgit, Gwadar, Kashmir, Larkana, and Dera Ismail Khan participating. The expansion aims to identify emerging cricket talent early, provide structured training, and create a clear pathway to representative and national cricket teams.

The program includes skills development camps and a structured competition pathway, culminating in the national stage with the final scheduled for December 5.
