Despite this, Trump pledged to use existing criminal and civil justice systems to identify potential threats from AI. He compared his announcement to the formation of the Space Force during his first term, which he claimed was a success. Trump emphasized that he would not hinder the growth of AI, calling it "the next industrial revolution" that he believes will account for 25% of the US GDP.

He also dismissed concerns about AI safety, dismissing them as "hoaxes" and a "conspiracy." Major players in the AI industry, including OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic, have proposed creating a self-regulatory body to oversee the industry, citing concerns about AI agents going rogue and breaking into competitors' systems.
