NIA files charge sheet against nine accused in Vijayawada radicalisation case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a charge sheet against nine accused in a Vijayawada radicalisation case, according to a report. The case was registered by the Two Town police of the NTR Commissionerate in March and subsequently transferred to the NIA. The accused, who are supporters of the proscribed terrorist organisation Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), allegedly conspired to establish a caliphate and incite violence through social media.

They reportedly developed a secret communication app and planned violent activities, the source stated. The investigation into the case is ongoing, the NIA added.
