Mumbai Water Stock Remains At 97.72%, Same As Previous Day; City's 7 Lakes Nearly Full

Mumbai's water reserves in seven lakes remained at 97.72% on Saturday, unchanged from the previous day, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The seven reservoirs' combined live storage stood at 14,14,356 million litres (ML) out of a total useful capacity of 14,47,363 ML. Vehar lake remained at 100%, Bhatsa at 99.27%, Tansa at 99.02%, Middle Vaitarna at 99.47%, Tulsi at 99.46%, Upper Vaitarna at 94.90%, and Modak Sagar at 89.36%.

Rainfall varied among the lakes, with Tulsi receiving the highest at 27 mm, while Bhatsa received none. Despite the rainfall, the overall water stock remained unchanged from the day before. The city's water reserves currently hold 14.14 lakh ML, with only a small portion of their total capacity still unfilled. This is slightly lower than the stock in 2025 but higher than in 2024.

Earlier this monsoon, Vehar and Tulsi started overflowing, followed by Tansa and Modak Sagar. As the monsoon continues, Mumbai's water stock remains close to full capacity.
