Liquor, eggs, tomatoes: Punjab BJP leader’s dramatic protest ends in detention

BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu faced detention by Punjab police after staging a protest with eggs and tomatoes during Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's convoy in Ludhiana. In a video shared on X, Bittu can be heard urging police to detain him, shouting "throw, throw!" before being taken into custody. The incident occurred a day after Bittu claimed that his own convoy was attacked while traveling to Pathankot for a BJP yatra.

He accused the AAP government of turning into a "gangster party" and alleged that police failed to intervene during the attack. Bittu also stated that the police allowed the attackers to slow down their convoy and then assisted the perpetrators in fleeing. He further alleged that protesters threatened to attack those inside the convoy, damaged vehicle windows, and even brought weapons.

BJP MP Raghav Chadha suggested that the Aam Aadmi Party was frightened and attempting to target Bittu following the alleged attack on his convoy.
