India's FTAs opening new career opportunities for youth: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on September 19, 2026, that India's Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with various countries are creating new career opportunities for the country's youth. During a virtual Rozgar Mela (Jobs Fair), the Prime Minister highlighted that the talent and skills of India's youth have gained the trust of the world, leading to great expectations from Indian innovators, entrepreneurs, and the nation's youthful strength.

India has signed 40 FTAs, which are opening new avenues for partnerships for entrepreneurs, new markets, and career possibilities for the youth.

At the event, Modi distributed over 51,000 appointment letters virtually to newly selected youth who will join government departments and organizations. He emphasized that India's entrepreneurs, farmers, women, and youth should all become active partners in the nation's partnership. He also noted that India's startup ecosystem, which is now the world's third largest, has expanded beyond big cities to include Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

Modi stated that India is moving towards a developed and self-reliant India by 2047, and young people play a significant role in this journey. He urged them to make decisions that strengthen the campaign for a developed and self-reliant India while serving in the government. The Rozgar Mela, held in 45 locations across the country, reflects the government's focus on creating employment opportunities for youngsters and their participation in the nation's development. As of now, 12.75 lakh youngsters have received appointment letters through this initiative.
