In Karnataka jobs scam, KPSC probe panel chief has her own political trail

According to records investigated by The Indian Express, Shakuntala Dundigoudar, the former school teacher and KPSC member, was appointed to lead an internal probe against her husband, KPSC chairman Shivashankarappa S Sahukar, in July 2023. This appointment came shortly after her husband rejoined the BJP and weeks after a reforms panel recommended reducing the KPSC's size and appointing only full professors.

Shakuntala's husband, Shrikant Dundigoudar, is a PWD contractor linked to a number of government contracts and Shakuntala herself is a director and shareholder in his construction company. The probe was dissolved within days after the Congress government transferred the police investigation to the CID, following the BJP's call for a CBI probe.
