Hunters’ Leader Searching For Missing Persons Killed in Kwara Forest

The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the killing of Agbeniga Taye in Oke-Ero Local Government Area. Taye was among three men who ventured into the forest in search of three individuals believed to be kidnapped and potentially victims of suspected kidnappers. This information emerged following reports that Taye was a local security commander, but the Commissioner of Police, Ojo Adekimi, could not confirm this.

According to Adekimi, the three men were unarmed when they entered the forest and were attacked by suspected bandits. One of the three men was killed while the other two escaped without injury. The police found one of the men in the forest after receiving information about the incident. The incident occurred in Oke-Ero, though the police have not disclosed the identity of the missing persons or confirmed whether the two alleged abductees mentioned in earlier reports were indeed taken.

A video showed two men carrying what was presumed to be Taye's body, with a young girl following behind, believed to be his daughter, crying out for her father. Police are currently investigating the incident.
