High capacity and high speed: Angelbird's new CFexpress Type A cards have it all

Angelbird has introduced a new set of high-capacity and high-speed CFexpress Type A cards called AV PRO MK3. These cards adhere to the most recent CFexpress 4.0 standard, ensuring remarkable read speeds of up to 1870MB/s and write speeds of up to 1850MB/s. For video capture, the sustained rates matter more, and the AV PRO MK3 delivers an impressive 1700MB/s read and 1600MB/s write.

This means the cards can effortlessly handle recording 8K Raw footage. The AV PRO MK3 is available in three capacities: 200GB, 400GB, 800GB, and the top-tier 1600GB, with the larger capacities boasting VPG400 and VPG800 certifications, guaranteeing a minimum 400GB/800GB write speed during video recording. Interestingly, Angelbird uses both VPG400 and VPG800 ratings because VPG800 is part of the newer Profile 5.0, which isn't backward-compatible with the older Profile 4.0.

Thus, a VPG800 card may not function with a camera requiring VPG200 or VPG400. The AV PRO MK3 cards boast advanced thermal management and Angelbird's Stable Stream technology to maintain consistent performance. They're also shock, vibration, and temperature-resistant (10 to 162°F). In case of data loss, Angelbird offers in-house data recovery services.

These cards are now available for pre-order at B&H, with prices starting at $199.99 for the 200GB version and rising to $899.99 for the 1600GB capacity.
