Embrace Peace, Unity for Development, Royal Father Charges Niger Delta Stakeholders

Ahamefula Ogbu, a former agitator and Royal Father in Azuzu Ama, Bayelsa State, addressed stakeholders in the Niger Delta, urging them to set aside disagreements and unite for the region's development. The Royal Father expressed concern over the region's unity being threatened by personal interests, warning that conflicts could cloud the vision for growth and progress.

He called on traditional rulers, ex-agitators, youth leaders, elders, and other influential figures to work together towards achieving development in the Niger Delta. Torughedi emphasized the importance of focusing on the common goal of attracting development, warning that disunity could have long-lasting consequences for future generations.

He appealed specifically to former agitators to put aside their grievances and pursue reconciliation. Torughedi reminded stakeholders that the Niger Delta struggle was about equity, justice, resource control, and the emancipation of historically marginalized people, not about selfish ambitions. He drew inspiration from the legacies of two prominent leaders, Governor Diepreye Solomon Peter Alamieseigha and Elder Statesman, Chief (Dr.) Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, who exemplified sacrifice, unity, and selfless advocacy.

Torughedi urged all factions to adopt a recalibrated approach, emphasizing that unity would be the key to unlocking the potential of the Niger Delta. In his closing remarks, he called for love and compassion towards the homeland, people, and future generations, asserting that such love would lead the region to a period of peace, prosperity, and relevance.
