Ed Sheeran Concert Time Changed As Ticket Prices Plunge, Protests Planned

Ed Sheeran's concert in Philadelphia has been delayed to 8 p.m., moving back from the originally advertised 5:30 p.m. start. The change occurred after remaining opening acts withdrew from the U.S. Loop Tour. The show, scheduled at Lincoln Financial Field, will now proceed without support acts. Simultaneously, a pro-Palestinian protest is planned to take place outside the stadium at 4:30 p.m., a full three and a half hours before the concert.

Shutdown DZ Philly, the protest group, will gather supporters outside the venue, maintaining their original start time. Philadelphia police reported that staffing would be adjusted to accommodate the demonstration. Some fans expressed concerns over the protest, altered lineup, and refunds, leading to a shift in their attendance plans.

Caitlin Smith, from Hatboro, decided to stay home despite using power wheelchairs with her husband, as they had planned to attend together. The couple's wedding song, "Perfect," by Ed Sheeran, was a significant reason for their interest in the concert. Ticket prices have plummeted, with StubHub listings dropping to $53 including fees, and TicketData showing resale prices at $56, both below the initial $75 get-in price recorded midweek.

Keith Pagello, founder of TicketData, noted that the rapid decline in prices surpassed the tour's typical pattern.
