'DUSU Poll Results Slap On Rahul Gandhi's Face, Defeat Of Congress Leader's 'Jhooth Ki Goonj': BJP

The BJP celebrated the historic victory of the ABVP in the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections, dismissing it as a severe rebuke to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and his "politics of falsehood." Union Home Minister Amit Shah described the result as a "tight slap" on the face of the opposition, which seeks to turn young minds into a "laboratory" for their agenda.

Shah emphasized that Delhi University is a melting pot of students from across India, and the mandate reflects the sentiments of the youth nation-wide.

ABVP secured three out of four key posts in the election, with Yash Dabas taking the presidency, Riya Chhawdi becoming secretary, and Lakshya Raj Singh acting as joint secretary. Deepanshu Shokeen, an Independent candidate who was not given an NSUI ticket, emerged victorious as the vice-president. The Congress-backed National Students' Union of India (NSUI) failed to secure any of the four central panel posts.

The BJP's spokesperson, Siddharth Yadav, claimed that Rahul Gandhi had been working to create an "anti-India" agenda, portraying the youth as distancing themselves from nationalist ideas. He asserted that the DUSU results had shattered the narrative built by the Congress, Left, and their ecosystem, which sought to promote falsehood and conspiracy. Yadav emphasized that the results were a mandate from the youth against Rahul Gandhi's "politics of falsehood."

BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj echoed similar sentiments, stating that the DUSU results demonstrated that the youth had rejected Rahul Gandhi's "jhooth ki goonj" (a reference to falsehood) and had embraced an ideology rooted in national interest. She highlighted the ABVP's victory as a reflection of the youth's unwavering faith in the "Nation First" policy and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's development agenda.
