Dodgers news: What Dave Roberts expects from Blake Snell, Roki Sasaki before the regular season ends

Dave Roberts, the Los Angeles Dodgers manager, has outlined the plan for the team's postseason rotation with roughly a week and a half remaining. According to Roberts, the Dodgers expect Blake Snell to pitch one more start before the regular season concludes. Snell exited Wednesday's game against the Reds after just one inning due to left groin tightness, which he described as precautionary.

Meanwhile, Roki Sasaki will start soon as well. Sasaki had been out since August 27 with a blister on his middle finger and has thrown a 48-pitch live batting practice and a four-inning simulated game. Initially, the Dodgers considered moving Sasaki to the bullpen, similar to his role during the team's championship run, but the decision was reversed after Snell's early exit.

Roberts stated that keeping Sasaki as a starter provides insurance in case of an unexpected injury. The manager also noted that Yoshinobu Yamamoto is the only Dodgers starter who has not missed a turn this season, and Tarik Skubal, Snell, and Tyler Glasnow have all undergone surgery. Shohei Ohtani, however, remains eligible to return as early as Wednesday, five days before the regular season ends.
