Delhi cop, wife found dead in Narela flat locked from inside: Police

On Saturday afternoon, the bodies of a 40-year-old Delhi police head constable and his 35-year-old wife were discovered in their locked flat in Narela, a residential area in outer Delhi. Initial investigations suggested that the head constable may have strangled his wife with her scarf before taking his own life. Police were alerted around 1pm when the Narela police station received a call about a house that was locked from inside and where the couple was unresponsive to knocks and phone calls.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the couple deceased in the same room and identified them as the head constable and his wife. The couple's two children, aged 11 and 13, had returned home from school and found their parents in distress. A joint commissioner of police from the northern range, Vijay Singh, stated that the flat was locked from inside, and entry was made with the help of the fire brigade.

Forensic examination, a crime scene inspection, and the involvement of senior police officers are ongoing to determine the exact sequence of events that led to the couple's tragic deaths. The bodies have been transferred to a hospital for post-mortem examinations, which will help clarify the exact cause of the incident.
