Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have spoken out following the alleged gang rape and murder of a teenage girl in Delhi. Rahul Gandhi, leader of opposition in Lok Sabha, harshly criticized the Delhi Police and questioned Union home minister Amit Shah's responsibility for women's safety in the capital. He described the incident as a "horrific act of brutality" and dismissed the notion that Delhi provided women with a safe environment, stating that it had become a source of fear for women.
Priyanka Gandhi also raised concerns over the case, pointing out another minor girl who had been raped just days earlier and questioning whether authorities were taking sufficient responsibility for women's safety. Both leaders demanded accountability for the crime and called for immediate action, with Rahul Gandhi emphasizing the link between women's safety and India's overall progress.
