Death of Miners: ‘I’ll expose any cover up’ – Adeyanju accepts appointment into committee

Human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju has accepted a position on the Independent committee tasked with investigating the deaths of 37 alleged illegal miners in Minna, Niger State. Adeyanju expressed his intention to protect the interests of the victims and ensure that the truth is uncovered during the investigation. He emphasized that he will not accept any monetary provisions, stipends, or honorariums for his role on the committee, as it is a national duty and members must be willing to make sacrifices.

Adeyanju also warned the government against providing any form of monetary compensation or benefits for committee members, stating that the investigation should be carried out without any financial inducements. He vowed to personally cover his own expenses and costs related to the investigation, and vowed to expose any attempt to shield the responsible parties or suppress the truth.
