CS Murkomen assures of security during election, warns drug dealers sponsoring politicians

Kenya's Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration, Kipchumba Murkomen, has pledged that the upcoming elections will be free, fair, and secure. As the government's top security official, Murkomen pledged to ensure the process is peaceful and safe for all citizens. He warned politicians against creating division and inciting violence, stating that the government would not tolerate such behavior and would take legal action against anyone found guilty.

Murkomen also took aim at drug dealers who are allegedly financing political violence through profits from illicit alcohol. He assured that security forces are closely monitoring these individuals and will swiftly apprehend them if found guilty. The government has reinforced the Anti-Narcotics Unit and intensified efforts to combat the production and distribution of illicit alcohol, which Murkomen described as being on the radar of law enforcement agencies.

During his address in Nyeri County, Murkomen inaugurated the Kieni West Onion Farmers Cooperative. He highlighted the government's commitment to targeted interventions in the agriculture sector to support farmers and vowed to continue cracking down on coffee theft and livestock theft. Murkomen was joined by various government officials, including the National Assembly Majority Leader and a delegation of MPs, MCA's, and other prominent leaders.
