BTS, Cortis land 3rd nomination at 2026 MTV Video Music Awards

SEOUL, Sept. 19 (Yonhap) -- K-pop supergroup BTS and newcomer Cortis have been nominated for the third time at this year's MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). The competition for Best Group includes four K-pop acts, among them BLACKPINK and Katseye. BTS has already been nominated for Song of the Year and Best K-pop for their hit single "Swim," which was part of their fifth studio album, "Arirang."

The septet has won this category four times consecutively from 2019 to 2022, becoming the most honored act in the awards' history. The 2026 VMAs will take place on September 27 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live on major U.S. television networks.
