Bono East Minister threatens contract termination over delayed Sene West 24-Hour Market project

Bono East Regional Minister Francis Owusu Antwi has threatened to terminate the contract of the contractor handling the Sene West District's 24-hour economy market project in Kwame Danso. During a site inspection on Friday, the Minister expressed his disappointment over the contractor, Gado Agalaza, having only completed about 5 percent of the anticipated 20 percent work.

Antwi emphasized that this level of performance was "highly unacceptable" and gave the contractor a one-month window to improve or face termination. The inspection was part of the Minister's regional tour to evaluate the progress of projects under the various district assemblies in Bono East Region. The contractor cited unpredictable weather conditions, particularly heavy rains, as the primary reason for the delays, but assured that efforts would be made to catch up and meet the Minister's expectations.

District Chief Executive Khaari Fuseini, who accompanied Antwi on the inspection, affirmed the significance of the project for the economic development of the area, stating that completion would enhance the commercial hub for traders and residents in Kwame Danso and surrounding communities. As the one-month deadline approaches, the contractor's ability to significantly boost output will be closely monitored, with the Regional Minister continuing his tour of project sites in the region in the days to come.

Residents of Kwame Danso, who have long awaited the market's completion, are hopeful that Antwi's warning will prompt the necessary improvements.
