Bengaluru techie arrested after accident reveals boy’s body in car boot

A Bengaluru IT professional, Bhaskar Reddy, was arrested after his car crash led police to the body of 13-year-old Prajwal in the boot. Reddy, who lived in the same neighbourhood as the boy for over five years, allegedly planned to kidnap Prajwal and demand a ransom of around Rs 1 crore from the victim's father. On Wednesday night, Reddy approached Prajwal's house, luring the boy by offering to buy crackers and allow him to drive the car.

Once alone with Prajwal, Reddy and a school bus cleaner allegedly assaulted the boy with a wooden rod and two hollow cement bricks, killing him. The pair were reportedly inebriated. Initially, Reddy claimed the boy had died in an accident while disposing of the body, but investigators found his body inside the car. Reddy's father reportedly owed nearly Rs 3 crore, and the car has been seized.
