Amisi urges Linda Mwananchi supporters to join PRM party

Parliamentary candidate Caleb Amisi has called on supporters of the Linda Mwananchi movement to abandon their current allegiance and join his People’s Renaissance Movement (PRM) party. Speaking during an interview on Saturday, September 19, 2026, Amisi stated that PRM is the founder and guiding force behind the Linda Mwananchi movement.

He urged Kenyans to recognize the fragmentation and lack of direction within the Linda Mwananchi movement and suggested that members return to PRM, which he believes offers a clear path forward.

Amisi blamed the current challenges facing Linda Mwananchi on the movement's failure to acknowledge its origins and the role of its founder. He criticized the situation where different leaders within Linda Mwananchi have established their own political parties, likening it to a "village outfit." Amisi urged Linda Mwananchi supporters to reconnect with the movement's foundation and the "manuscript" that brought it to life.

The politician further accused senior politicians, such as Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya and Siaya Governor James Orengo, of infiltrating Linda Mwananchi after it had gained momentum. Amisi argued that these politicians, who were not originally part of the movement, do not fully understand its purpose. He claimed that PRM was initially established to help a young leader rise to power and that some individuals, including Babu Owino, joined the movement to exploit it for their own political gain.

Amisi contended that the late arrival of figures like Orengo, who were too old to effectively contribute, undermined the movement's potential.
