Allow Ruto to deliver his mandate, Kenya Kwanza leaders tell Uhuru

Kenya Kwanza leaders have continued to express their discontent towards former President Uhuru Kenyatta, charging him with attempts to undermine the current administration and its developmental goals. Representing President William Ruto’s team, including his aide Farouk Kibet and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, these leaders urged Uhuru to respect his position and permit the ongoing government to fulfill its duties.

During a boda boda empowerment event in Teso South, the leaders accused Uhuru of meddling in the operations of the Kenya Kwanza government and warned against his efforts to obstruct the administration. They emphasized that Ruto will serve two terms, just like his predecessors, rejecting the notion of a one-term presidency. Speaker Wetang’ula stated, “President Uhuru Kenyatta came with all his shortcomings and weaknesses, no one told him one term”.

“So now we have this diligent man, President William Ruto; those advocating for 'one term' will face disappointment. Kenyans recognize the difference between those who work and those who don’t, and they understand President Ruto’s positive impact on the country”. These comments were made amidst growing political activity leading up to the 2027 General Election, with Kenya Kwanza leaders defending their government’s performance and cautioning against any actions aimed at destabilizing its leadership.
