73 motorists report asphalt damage on Bangkok’s Rama 9 Road

On 19 September 3026, at least 73 motorists reported asphalt damage on Rama 9 Road in Bangkok. The affected vehicles included Mercedes-Benz, BMW, electric vehicles, and passenger cars. Victims visited Huamark Police Station to report damage caused by falling asphalt on the outbound side of Rama 9 Road, between the Rama 9 and Ramkhamhaeng intersections.

The resurfacing work on an elevated section of the road likely caused the asphalt to fall onto passing vehicles. Chantima, a 29-year-old Honda City owner, filed the 73rd report, stating that asphalt fell onto her car as she drove home from work. She discovered damage along her vehicle's right side, from the front bumper to the rear, and is seeking compensation from the contractor and other parties involved.

Police are arranging discussions between victims and responsible parties for compensation. The contractor has acknowledged the incident and agreed to compensate affected motorists. Police believe the number of affected vehicles could rise, as numerous cars, including Mercedes-Benz and BMW models, electric vehicles, and other passenger cars, sustained damage such as dents to hoods, roofs, and trunks.
