70 People Fall Ill After Eating Suspected Contaminated Food at Engagement Ceremony

At least seventy individuals fell ill following consumption of potentially contaminated food at an engagement ceremony in Swari Bazaar, Buner region. Local accounts indicate the dish served during Waliullah's daughter's wedding caused adverse health effects for a significant number of attendees, with the majority hailing from neighboring Chagharzai and Paggyal areas.

Among the affected were numerous women and children who were promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention. Hospital Superintendent Dr. Farrukh Syed disclosed that twenty patients were discharged after receiving prompt care, while the remaining fifty continue their recovery under treatment at the District Headquarters Hospital.

Local officials, including the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, paid a visit to the hospital subsequent to the incident and instructed the management to ensure the victims receive optimal medical care. Police have initiated an inquiry into the matter.
