1 killed, 4 injured in shooting near Mae Ramphueng Beach

RAYONG — On September 18, 2026, a tragic incident unfolded near Mae Ramphueng Beach in Rayong, resulting in one fatality and four injuries. Two groups of teenagers engaged in a violent exchange of gunfire, with a bystander among the victims. The confrontation took place near the "Mae Ramphueng Beach: Colors of the Eastern Region" festival, which was in full swing that night.

The festival featured musical performances by popular artists, including a concert by the band Maleehuana that evening. As the concert concluded, tourists began to depart the venue. Two groups of teenagers, reportedly embroiled in an argument, began exchanging insults and challenges before dissolving into a fight. Shortly thereafter, a barrage of gunshots rang out.

Panandat, who was not involved in the altercation and was on his way home, tragically lost his life from a bullet wound. Four other teenagers involved in the confrontation also sustained injuries from the gunfire. A concerned member of the public managed to capture video footage of the incident. Police investigators at the Muang Rayong Police Station are meticulously reviewing the footage as crucial evidence and have identified a suspect they believe to be the perpetrator.

The authorities are urgently searching for the suspect and preparing to take legal action against them.
