U.S. to allow Iranian leaders to attend UN, Abbas to speak via video

U.S. authorities have authorized Iranian officials, President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, to participate in the upcoming UN General Assembly in New York, according to the State Department. This decision was made despite ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States. The delegation will consist of fewer individuals than the previous year's attendance.

The approval of visas to the Iranian delegation came a day following the denial of visas to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and his team. Meanwhile, Israeli settlers were captured on camera attacking the West Bank village of Burka, setting agricultural land ablaze. Israeli authorities have arrested an individual suspected of involvement in the arson and assault incident.

Additionally, the U.S. has approved a potential $24.3 billion sale of F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia, including engines, communication equipment, and spare parts.
