Torrevieja Youth Centre Temporarily Closed Following Ceiling Collapse

Torrevieja Council has temporarily closed the Youth Information and Activity Centre (CIAJ) due to a suspended ceiling collapse on Paseo Juan Aparicio. This safety measure is in place to protect visitors and staff while repairs are assessed and carried out. The services the CIAJ provides have been relocated to the Municipal Multi-Purpose Building on Avenida de las Habaneras, near the building's entrance for easy access.

The council maintains that youth will still receive necessary information and assistance from municipal services. An employment workshop that was scheduled at the CIAJ will be continued at the Local Development Agency without interruption. The ceiling damage has also halted a refurbishment project at the CIAJ, which can only resume once the damage is repaired and the building is considered safe.

The council has not yet set a date for the Youth Centre's reopening and will update the public on repairs and reopening progress.
