[TEST DRIVE] Renault Filante blends commanding size with agile drive

Renault Korea's flagship crossover, the Filante, exudes a commanding size but surprises with its agile handling. The vehicle's stable ride, elegant interior, and surprisingly efficient fuel economy deliver a unique blend of comfort and driving pleasure. To test its capabilities, the Filante was driven approximately 400 kilometers on a journey that included both city streets and highways.

Across the route, the crossover demonstrated a smooth and confident ride, while also boasting excellent fuel efficiency. This combination of attributes made a strong overall impression on the tester. Although the Filante shares some design elements with Renault Korea's popular Grand Koleos SUV, it presents a more upscale and sportier image.

Measuring 4,915 millimeters in length and 1,635 millimeters in height, the Filante possesses a substantial presence on the road. However, its low, sculpted roofline and floating rear spoiler lend it a sleeker appearance, merging characteristics of both a sedan and an SUV. This distinction becomes increasingly evident once the car is in motion.

The Filante's driving nature can be encapsulated in one word: planted. Its E-Tech hybrid powertrain integrates a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, resulting in a balanced and responsive driving experience.
