Sunrise Power to review ICC arbitration on Mambilla project

Leno Adesanya, the promoter of Sunrise Power and Transmission Company Limited, has disclosed that the legal dispute surrounding the Mambilla hydroelectric power project is still ongoing, despite a recent arbitration decision involving the Federal Government. In a statement on Friday, Adesanya revealed that the company's legal team is currently examining the decision made by the International Arbitration Tribunal under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, France.

Adesanya stated that Sunrise will evaluate all legally permissible options at its disposal following a thorough assessment by its legal counsel. The company has expressed respect for the arbitration process and the tribunal's decision, but emphasized the need for a careful examination of the award's findings and reasoning before determining the subsequent course of action.

Adesanya reiterated the company's commitment to protecting its interests in the Mambilla project and urged all parties to seek a resolution that safeguards the project's potential for Nigeria's power sector.
