Stabilising prices: Dar reviews wheat import

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar instructed the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) to ensure provinces receive the required quantities of wheat, based on their needs. He also ordered the Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation (PASSCO) to supply wheat to provinces from its reserves according to pre-agreed quantities.

During a meeting of the National Steering Committee on wheat import, chaired by the DPM/ FM, Dar assessed the wheat importation process aimed at price stabilization. The attendees included the Ministers of National Food Security and Economic Affairs, Deputy Governor of State Bank of Pakistan, Secretaries of National Food Security and Commerce, Additional Chief Secretaries of Punjab and Sindh, and senior officials from AJK, GB, ICT, and other relevant federal and provincial departments.
