Sony Announces IER-M500; IEMs That Cost RM499

Sony has recently introduced a new pair of in-ear monitors, the IER-M500, which are priced at RM499. This is a surprisingly affordable option when compared to Sony's other IEMs. The IER-M500 features a 5mm dynamic driver housed within a fully sealed acoustic chamber, which provides the brand's signature deep bass, as well as clear vocals and detailed highs. The IEMs have a frequency response range of 10 to 40,000 Hz and come with a 1.6-meter cable. The pair weighs only 6.9 grams without the cable connected.

One of the standout features of the IER-M500 is the availability of multiple ear tip and fitting supporter options. Specifically, there are four sizes of ear tips and five sizes of supporting sleeves, ensuring a comfortable and secure fit for most users. The IEMs also include ear hangers to loop the cable over the top of the ears, and a cable clip for added security.

The three available colour options are "Clear", "Black", and "Red&Blue". The latter option is translucent, making it easy to distinguish left from right. The IER-M500 is now available for purchase at an accessible price point of RM499.

Stop Hardcoding Your Database Credentials in Lambda — Use IAM Authentication with RDS Proxy Instead

Your Lambda function works. It connects to RDS, queries the database, returns results. Somewhere in your environment variables sits a username and a password — plain text, sitting there quietly.

  • Lambda functions store database credentials in plain text environment variables.
  • IAM Authentication with RDS Proxy eliminates hardcoding credentials in Lambda.
  • Enable IAM Authentication on RDS and RDS Proxy, create MySQL user without password.
