SHA launches e-contracting portal for healthcare providers as new applications open

The Social Health Authority (SHA) has successfully launched its E-Contracting Portal, providing healthcare providers with a new platform to apply for contracts under Kenya's government health financing funds. The portal became accessible at 3 pm on Thursday, September 17, 2026, as announced by SHA in a notice. SHA CEO Dr Mercy Mwangangi confirmed the portal's availability in the notice.

This new online system aims to simplify the contracting process by offering a centralized location for healthcare providers to submit applications and necessary documentation. Healthcare providers must submit fresh applications via the E-Contracting Portal starting from the official launch time of 3 pm on September 17. Applications submitted before this time will not be carried over to the new contracting process.

SHA emphasized that applications submitted during the testing phase prior to the official launch are archived and must be resubmitted through the live portal.

SHA urged healthcare providers to ensure all information entered into the portal is accurate and complete, along with providing all required supporting documents to avoid disqualification. Healthcare providers should not rely on applications submitted before the official launch and should instead complete the new contracting process through the live portal.
