SBI joins dtcpay’s US$25M round to bridge Japan, SEA stablecoin corridors

Singapore-based dtcpay has completed its US$25 million Series A funding round, with Japan's SBI Group joining the venture as a strategic investor. The company, founded by Alice Liu and Band Zhao, provides infrastructure for businesses and individuals to utilize stablecoins and fiat currencies. dtcpay's system includes a real-time swap engine, aiming to reduce the operational friction associated with handling digital assets.

The company differentiates itself by building tightly licensed infrastructure, allowing stablecoins to coexist alongside fiat money. dtcpay has already launched several commercial use cases, including a Digital Payment Token point-of-sale acceptance product, integration with WalletConnect, and a Visa Infinite card for stablecoin-to-fiat transactions.

The funding round, led by Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India, also includes Genedant Capital and existing investor Kwee Liong Tek. The capital will be used to expand dtcpay's product suite, merchant network, and support its product roadmap in 2026. SBI's involvement validates the potential of compliant, real-world stablecoin payments as an infrastructure being built right now.
