Rupee Trashes Pound Again to End Week

The Pakistani rupee continued its winning streak against major currencies, ending the week in a strong position. On Friday, the PKR closed in the green against the US Dollar for the 243rd consecutive day. Traders expect the British Pound to fall below Rs. 370 within the next week, following today's drop. Energy market volatility and commodity price fluctuations are cited as the primary drivers behind the anticipated drop in GBP value.

Closing at 277.25 against the US Dollar after a gain of one paisa today, the rupee has consistently gained value since December 25, 2025. While the PKR gained 54 paisas against the British Pound during the week, it lost 34 paisas against the Australian Dollar, 21 paisas against the Euro, and remained stable at one paisa against the UAE Dirham. The rupee showed minor gains against other currencies such as the Canadian Dollar and Canadian Dollar.
