‘Reacher’ Holds Off ‘Ted Lasso’ and Taylor Sheridan as No. 1 on Streaming | Chart

"Reacher," Amazon Prime Video's adaptation of the popular Jack Reacher character, has remained at the top of the streaming charts for an impressive five straight weeks. This detective drama has defied all odds, standing firm against Oscar-winning actors, Emmy-winning shows, iconic comic book properties and other returning favorites. As of press time, "Reacher" has already completed its fourth season, and a spinoff titled "Neagley" debuted on Prime Video on September 16.

This week, "Ted Lasso" holds the second spot on the streaming chart, propelled by its surprise fourth season on Apple TV+. The sports comedy has proven to be a massive hit for the platform, moving up two places from last week. "Special Ops: Lioness," a spy thriller created by Taylor Sheridan, ranks third on the chart, having aired its penultimate episode of the third season on September 13. The show is currently enjoying its highest chart position yet.

"Lanterns" takes fourth place on the streaming chart, pushed down by the competition from "Ted Lasso" and "Lioness." The HBO Max series follows the titular superhero, Lanterns, as they investigate murder and alien activity in a small town. Rounding out the top five is the Netflix debut of "Why Did I Get Married Again?," the third installment in Tyler Perry's comedy trilogy. The film marks the latest offering from the fruitful partnership between actor/director/writer/producer Tyler Perry and Netflix.

"Mayday," an action film and buddy comedy starring Ryan Reynolds as an American fighter pilot attempting to escape the Soviet Union with the help of an Americanophile former KGB agent, climbs three spots to sixth place. The film is available exclusively on Apple TV. Netflix holds the next three spots, starting with "The Gentlemen," which returns for its second season in seventh place. Guy Ritchie's black comedy series has gained popularity since its debut.

Two series led by Angelina Jolie and Taylor Sheridan round out the top ten, with "Those Who Wish Me Dead" debuting in eighth place and "The Whisper Man" in ninth place. Both shows are finds from Taylor Sheridan's filmography, with "Those Who Wish Me Dead" originally released in 2021 and making a comeback since its addition to Netflix's library.

The suspense thriller "The Whisper Man" drops from second place to ninth position this week, likely due to the intense competition from "Ted Lasso" and "Lioness." In tenth place, the action film "The Runner" features Gal Gadot as an attorney who must run through London to stop a witness from testifying and save her son. Meanwhile, the popular TV show "America's Got Talent" continues its dominance in the linear chart, with its finale set for September 22.

Season 28 of "Big Brother" rounds out the top ten, making its presence known as it winds towards its October 1 finale.
