Qatar Forum for Authors holds seminar on role of place in literary works

Doha: The Qatar Forum for Authors, a Ministry of Culture-backed organization, convened a literary seminar on Wednesday to explore the significance of place in literary works and its impact on shaping identity and memory. The event, presided over by writer Badriya Hamad Al Marikhi, delved into how an area's built environment can transform into a defining element and enduring memory within novels and short stories.

Forum Director Iman Al Kaabi revealed that the forum is actively working to enhance the cultural landscape, foster intellectual growth, and engage writers and intellectuals through a series of regular cultural programs and seminars held throughout Qatar. The seminar was based on Al Marikhi's book, published by the Ministry of Culture, which focuses on the aesthetics of place in Qatari novels.

Al Kaabi emphasized the significance of this project as one of the forum's most substantial cultural undertakings, aimed at fostering intellectual output and literary research within the country. She reiterated the forum's commitment to organizing cultural seminars and programs designed to enrich the literary scene, nourish minds, and attract writers and intellectuals.
