DAP's Central Executive Council (CEC) will convene a meeting tomorrow to deliberate the party's stance and subsequent actions concerning the decision to allow former Prime Minister Najib Razak to serve the remainder of his prison sentence under house arrest, according to Loke Siew Fook, the party's Senior Vice President. Loke emphasized that DAP maintains its stance on corruption and accountability issues, stating, "Consequently, a Central Executive Council (CEC) meeting of DAP will be held tomorrow to discuss and decide on the party's position and subsequent actions."

The Federal Territory Relocation Committee (LPWP) recently approved Najib's request to serve the remaining 13 months of his prison term under house arrest until August 23, 2028, provided he pays a RM50 million fine and adheres to the specified conditions. Loke reiterated DAP's respect for the power of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's pardon, while upholding the principles of constitutional monarchy, constitutional governance, and the rule of law.

The Minister of Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territory), Hannah Yeoh, while serving as a member of the Federal Territory Relocation Committee (LPWP), expressed her views on the matter, which she said were in line with DAP's struggle principles and were made honestly and transparently for the nation's benefit. Loke also reminded that the financial impact of the 1MDB scandal continues to be borne by the government and the people.

According to the Finance Ministry's statement on September 13, 2026, the total 1MDB debt owed to the government amounts to RM51.4 billion, including RM42.5 billion already paid by the government and the remaining RM8.9 billion.
