PAP sends another batch of 31 scholars to UK for studies

The Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) has dispatched an additional 31 scholars to the United Kingdom for postgraduate studies, as part of its ongoing initiative to provide educational opportunities for Niger Delta youths. The 31 students joined 54 scholars who left Nigeria last week, marking the second batch of beneficiaries to embark on their academic journeys abroad.

The scholars, who arrived in London from Abuja, are set to embark on diverse programs ranging from forensic audit to fintech analytics. This deployment follows a pre-departure briefing organized in August for the 150 beneficiaries, a development overseen by Dr Dennis Brutu Otuaro, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

Otuaro emphasized the importance of academic excellence and responsible conduct, urging the scholars to fully utilize the President Bola Tinubu administration's support. He expressed optimism that the investment in education would yield significant benefits for the Niger Delta region and Nigeria as a whole, highlighting education as a pivotal instrument for achieving sustainable peace, stability, development, and socio-economic progress.

Otuaro acknowledged President Tinubu's commitment to the PAP and its mission, praising the Administrator for demonstrating a steadfast dedication to the development of the Niger Delta and its youth. He also commended the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, for his invaluable contributions to the program. Otuaro further expressed gratitude to PAP stakeholders and reaffirmed his commitment to fostering sustainable peace, stability, and development in the Niger Delta region.
