Pakistani Student Completes 1,100km Run From Lahore to Skardu

Faizan Ahmed, a Government College University student from Lahore, has successfully completed a 1,100-kilometer endurance run that concluded in Skardu on Thursday, September 17. Faizan, who is affiliated with the Falcon Triathlon Club, embarked on this arduous journey on September 3, traversing through the diverse landscapes of Pakistan.

His route began in Punjab and progressed through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, covering key locations such as Gujranwala, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Abbottabad, Naran, Babusar Top, Chilas, and Raikot.

The 22-day challenge encompassed rigorous physical demands, including challenging terrains, steep ascents, and variable weather, as Faizan made his way from central Punjab towards the northern mountains of the country. Beyond his remarkable endurance, Faizan used the run to honor the Armed Forces of Pakistan and the sacrifices of police martyrs.

He also aimed to raise awareness about the serious issue of drug abuse, particularly among young people, emphasizing healthier alternatives and the importance of positive social engagement.

Faizan’s initiative sought to leverage endurance sports as a tool for spreading messages of responsibility and fostering positive change across communities. This long-distance run exemplifies the rising enthusiasm for such challenges among younger generations in Pakistan, who are not only pursuing personal achievements but also using their platforms to advocate for important social causes.

Upon completing the journey, Falcon Triathlon Club extended their congratulations to Faizan for his dedication and the impactful message he conveyed through his extraordinary journey from Lahore to Skardu.
