Ofori Amponsah weighs in on Barosky’s plight, calls for medical attention

Renowned Ghanaian highlife musician Ofori Amponsah has urged for empathy and medical aid for his fellow artist Barosky, following his recent predicament in the United Kingdom. Barosky, who found himself homeless and stranded in Manchester, was brought back to Ghana in September 2026 with government backing. On the radio show Hitz FM, Ofori Amponsah underscored that the priority should now be on aiding Barosky rather than rehashing past disputes or assigning blame.

"What I believe we must do for Barosky is to show him kindness because I think he's experiencing something and requires medical attention. He needs our prayers. He needs our support as he could be going through something," he emphasized. According to Ofori Amponsah, Barosky might have been grappling with problems before his recent UK experience, implying that the matter necessitates more than just financial aid.

The two musicians share a history dating back to the mid-2000s. Ofori Amponsah first encountered Barosky in 2004 and collaborated on several hit songs prior to Barosky leaving to pursue his own album. He revealed that at the time, he had advised Barosky to invest more time in building his reputation through collaborations before releasing a solo album.

However, the two eventually went their separate ways. Despite the substantial time apart, Ofori Amponsah noted that it would be unjust to hold him solely accountable for Barosky's current predicament. He also dismissed the notion that merely providing Barosky with money would solve the issue, stressing that what the musician truly needs extends beyond a one-time financial injection. For Ofori Amponsah, the immediate focus should be on securing Barosky professional assistance.
