Nigerian man jailed after exposing himself, masturbating in front of woman on UK train

A Nigerian man named Babatunde Odutola has been jailed for 44 weeks after exposing himself and masturbating in front of a woman on a train in Cheshire, according to prosecutors. The incident occurred on Friday, September 11, around 7pm, as the train traveled towards Manchester Piccadilly. Odutola, who has no fixed address, pleaded guilty to one count of outraging public decency and breaching a suspended sentence order. The court sentenced him to 44 weeks in prison just three days after the incident.

The allegations began when Odutola approached a lone woman on the train and looked her up and down in an intimidating manner. When she refused to engage with him, he became aggressive and exposed himself while sitting in a wheelchair. He then masturbated while looking at the woman and told her to "come over". A fellow passenger intervened to help the distressed woman leave the carriage.

CCTV footage captured Odutola continuing the act as other passengers moved through the carriage. British Transport Police officers arrested him once the train arrived at Manchester Piccadilly.

Odutola's behavior was described as "disturbing" by British Transport Police Detective Constable Leonidas Christoforou, who stated that it must have been terrifying for the woman he had singled out while she was traveling alone. He initially denied the allegations during a police interview but eventually pleaded guilty after being confronted with CCTV footage and witness accounts.

Odutola is also a registered sex offender, and the officer warned that such behavior would not be tolerated on the railway, and that the force remained committed to holding offenders accountable.
