However, Nestlé adheres to all Russian laws, according to a spokesperson. Russia's use of formal legal procedures is questioned, as the true motivation remains unclear. Russian business experts suggest that the government might be interested in acquiring Nestlé's profitable operations, particularly in baby formula and coffee production, which require specialized knowledge.

The compulsory supervision could jeopardize Russia's supply security, as Nestlé has been actively maintaining production in the country since the war began.
