Nestle faces uncertainty after Russia takes over local operations

President Donald Trump announced on social media that the United States is making significant progress on plans to establish a permanent U.S. Army base in Poland, which would be a historic step for the U.S.-Poland alliance. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk warned of potential risks from Russia, citing intelligence that Russia could portray any incident involving drones or projectiles as an accident to erode NATO's willingness to respond jointly.

Tusk also mentioned the use of more advanced Russian drones that are harder to intercept and Russia's targeting of Ukrainian infrastructure near Poland, including a recent incident involving a Russian drone strike on a passenger train carrying foreign dignitaries. Poland has bolstered its military presence along its border with Ukraine, installing Hesco bastions and new observation posts.

While no final location for the U.S. base has been announced, Polish defense minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz suggested Poznań and Wrocław as potential sites.
