The fair held in Malaysia is one of the world’s leading gatherings of halal product manufacturers. The Halal do Brasil Project has participated in the trade show since 2023. The post Mihas showcase to feature six Brazilian companies appeared first on ANBA News Agency .

São Paulo – Six Brazilian companies will exhibit their products at the Mihas Fair in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia next week. The event is organized by the Halal do Brasil Project, an initiative of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce aimed at promoting Brazilian-made halal products internationally. Halal refers to food items permissible under Islamic law.

The participating companies include Milhão, a manufacturer of corn and corn-based products, protein processor MBRF, and Pão e Arte, a bakery. Additionally, halal certification bodies CDIAL Halal, Fambras Halal, and Halal Approval will be present at the trade show. An official opening ceremony will take place for the Brazilian booth, attended by local authorities.

Fernanda Dantas, Internationalization Projects Manager at the Arab Chamber, explains that this event presents an opportunity to tap into a growing Muslim consumer base. She notes that Malaysia serves as a gateway to the Asian market, boasting low import tariffs for most products except protein, making it an attractive destination for Brazilian companies.

Dantas further highlights that Malaysia's well-established logistics infrastructure and its membership in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) - a free-trade area comprising 11 countries - provide a strategic advantage.

Mihas is considered one of the world's leading halal product events. Last year, it attracted over 50,000 visitors, with business deals surpassing US$1 billion in value, according to the organizers. The Halal do Brasil Project first showcased its products at the Mihas Fair in 2023, and since then, it has participated in every edition of the trade show.

This consistent participation is crucial for enhancing the recognition of Brazilian brands in the local market. For instance, Pão e Arte, which made its debut at the event last year, now exports its products to Malaysia.

Fernanda Baltazar, the Arab Chamber’s Director of Institutional Relations, will also be present at the trade show, further strengthening the connections between Brazilian and Malaysian businesses.
