Meta explains the decision in the documentation. The client settings remain functional due to the unchanged endpoint and tool prefix. The decision to change the tool name is considered appropriate because changing it prevents errors for those who have set it up. However, the move reveals the opposite of what the author expected.

Meta is not the only one with MCP servers; there are at least two, each using opposite design philosophies. One server has 11 tools, while the other has 82 tools. This 7.5 times difference highlights the different answers to the same question in the MCP design principles.
