Levi Kitchen on 'the lamest win I've ever had'

Columbus, Ohio witnessed Levi Kitchen's championship standings rise to prominence following the conclusion of the second moto in both events last week. The victory marked Kitchen's perception of the most unsatisfying triumph he had ever experienced, as he chuckled before embarking on the inaugural Free Practice session of Round 2 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

Post-victory, Kitchen expressed his bewilderment, stating that the aftermath was rather peculiar. The SuperMotocross League's scoring system comprises three rounds, each with varying point allocations: standard points in Round 1, double points in Round 2, and triple points in Round 3. This structure amplifies the significance of gaining and maintaining momentum throughout the competition, as losing ground in the final round could prove detrimental.

Kitchen maintained that his momentum had been consistent, attributing any potential lapses to previous weekends. His primary focus remained on the championship, urging contestants to approach each race independently. Despite Kitchen leading the Pro Motocross rankings until the final round, the point distribution among the top five riders made it challenging to predict the eventual outcome.

Cole Davies emerged as the champion, securing four of the six motos and two overall wins during that span. While Kitchen had not been mathematically eliminated, he faced a daunting challenge following a crash in the opening moto and finishing last. The week-long hiatus between Motocross and SuperMotocross provided riders with an opportunity to recharge.

Kitchen recognized the importance of regaining his speed after numerous motos, focusing on refining his technique and ensuring a clean start to the race. With Kitchen currently 10 points ahead of Davies and seven ahead of Ryder DiFrancesco, the upcoming rounds hold immense significance, particularly given the increased point values.
