Gujarat Shocker: Man Kills 5-Year-Old Daughter, Keeps Body In Fridge Before Suicide; 3 Notes Found

A 40-year-old construction site supervisor, Kishore Dhanak, allegedly murdered his five-year-old daughter, Himanshi, by smothering her, then placed her body inside a refrigerator. Dhanak later took his own life at their home in Gujarat’s Amreli district, according to police. The shocking tragedy was discovered when Dhanak's wife, Manjuben, could not reach him by phone on September 14 and sent her brother to check on him. Upon entering the house, her brother found Dhanak hanging from a ceiling fan.

Police found three suicide notes in the house, according to the FIR. In one of the notes, Dhanak mentioned that he had taken a personal loan and invested the money in construction work. He lamented that his business associates owed him ₹7.25 lakh but had not paid him. In another note, Dhanak explained that he killed his daughter because he did not want her to suffer after his death. The third note expressed remorse and detailed how he had kept the child’s body inside the refrigerator.

The room Dhanak had used for this horrifying act appeared to have been prepared for a final celebration. Balloons, candles, and other decorations adorned the space. Himanshi was dressed in white, with a dupatta on her head and a cushion placed inside the refrigerator. Tulsi leaves were also arranged on her lips. Inspectors noted that Dhanak had even placed a note reading "Happy Birthday Himanshi" on the refrigerator, despite it not being her actual birthday.

Dhanak's actions have left authorities baffled and deeply concerned for the well-being of his daughter. The police have registered a murder case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Ongoing investigations aim to shed more light on this tragic and heartbreaking case.
