Full text: 'This site must never become a dump site again' - Mahama says at Agbogbloshie

The government has initiated the removal of waste at Agbogbloshie, aiming to tackle sanitation issues in the region. This effort, led by the Ministry of Local Government with assistance from the Ministries of Finance, Roads and Highways, and Energy, commenced on the same day. Roads and Highways Minister, Govern Kwame Agbodza, announced this development on X, urging professionals in the built environment to present ideas for the redevelopment of Agbogbloshie.

Agbodza challenged the Ghana Institute of Architects, Ghana Institution of Engineering, Planners, among others, to submit proposals for optimal AGBOGBLOSHI REGENERATION in accordance with government policy. The Minister seeks practical proposals from architects, engineers, planners, and other experts to guide the area's regeneration according to government policy.

He emphasized that the redevelopment requires collaboration from all relevant professional bodies and stakeholders. "Together, we can achieve this. Let's get to work," Agbodza declared. This call coincides with the commencement of the waste evacuation exercise at Agbogbloshie, with the overarching goal of revitalizing the area through a structured regeneration program.
