France arrests far-right policeman suspected of terrorist plot: sources

A violent radical far-right policeman has been arrested in France on suspicion of terrorist plot, sources told AFP. The 35-year-old officer was apprehended on August 23 while on duty. He is suspected of planning violent attacks against state interests and manufacturing 3D-printed weapons, among other crimes. The policeman faces charges including preparing a terrorist act, unauthorized weapon manufacture or trade, unauthorized weapon possession, and incitement to terrorism through social media.

His lawyers have not responded to AFP as of Thursday evening. This arrest follows the expulsion of another far-right National Rally party policeman due to racist comments caught on body camera. The National Rally party, led by Marine Le Pen, is seeking to become France's president in the upcoming elections.
